Project Cheap Thrils

This is the home of project cheap thrils
the Goal of Project Cheap thrils is to see how fast I can make this car go with the lesat amount of money

  whats done so far
The starting point
A 1985 Dodge Omni GLH T I bought for 300 dollars.
It was about 99% stock when I bought it. the Whole fuel tank and pump was replaced with a used unit cost free. the first thing was a tune up and a oil change about 50 dollars.I added a A/F gauge a boost gauge and a tachometer 92 dollars. I installed a manual boost controler I removed from a car I parted out I set the boost to 15 Lbs I also added a used set of slicks and wheels I bought for 40 dollars. Then removed the muffler and headed to the drag strip. unfortunely the track wasn't prepped and I couldn't hook up I spun every pass
here are my best times
60'2.134 (spining)
330' 6.054
1/8 9.366 1/8 MPH 73.50
1000' 12.304
1/4 14.19 MPH 84.93

I also forgot to say that this car has over 137000 miles on it

I bought this 1985 Omni GLH T for it was in need of a Fuel pump other the the week pump it ran and drove
orginially I was going to T II this car but it dosn't make sense to pull it apart till I break something major .
  NEW
I have started to paint The Beast. I have gotten tired of looking at the primer. so I started painting it with a dark gold paint.
I BROKE IT
Last time at the track(about a month ago) I lost first gear in the burnout. I will be switching to a automatic Trans. I hope to have The Beast up and running within a week or two
I hope to have some new pictures and time slips

  The Future
I would like to fit"The Beast" aka Project Cheap Thrils with a fiberglass hatch and custom fiberglass hood
if the car holds up I would like to take it to the GrassRoots Motorsports Chalenge
